From 2013-2017 we had the opportunity to visit and study the design of creative spaces all over the US and abroad. Although we were studying the spaces themselves, we got to meet all sorts of people; many who did not describe themselves as creative at all. These individuals told us they come to these places because they liked tinkering and the cameraderie, but also many were motivated by the satisfaction that comes with making an everyday object rather than buying it at a store.
This enthusiasm was contagious. And so the objects below became our own attempts to Make Something. It wasn’t always pretty, but that’s okay. It’s all part of the fun.
